What are they saying?

"I was so amazed after finishing your class on quitting smoking when I noticed afterward I really didn't want a cigarette at all and I felt really good about it. Its great to see something that worked. Thanks so much."

"I wanted to touch base with you, I attended your class 9/12. I weighed this AM (9/19) and I am down 4 pounds for this week. I know I can not  expect to lose 4 pounds a week (2 is my goal) but what a boost for me to see results like this in a week. I find I am making healthy food choices, I make time for exercise and use my cards each evening (evening seems to work the best for me). My energy level goes up each day as I shed those unwanted pounds!! I feel I am off to a great start!!! –Thanks,"

Lets get the facts on learning

Enhanced Learning

Q - Do these techniques really work?

A  - I think this is a question anyone who watches television can answer. These are the very techniques that advertisers use relentlessly to make you want that pizza they’re hocking, even though you just got up from a full meal. Or to have you replay their jingle every time you see their logo. They have even learned that they can use your mind to replay a full minute long commercial in your head with as little as 15 seconds of air time. Advertisers spend millions of dollars every day hiring people with the very same training as our presenter because they know very well how effective NLP & Hypnotic techniques are. Isn't it time you used these powerful tools to gain your goals and those of your group?

Q   - What is Neuro-Linguistic Programming?

A  -  In a nut shell, NLP is the science of understanding how we represent the world we live in to ourselves. More importantly, it is the study of how we can use that understanding to assist ourselves and others to gain the goals that we desire. The basic premise of NLP is this: the world as we know it is represented in our minds by concepts and memories collected through our senses of taste, smell, touch, hearing and sight. When I ask you, “What does your friend’s voice sound like?” you probable hear that person's voice in your head. You did not actually hear that person’s voice but you can access the memory of what it sounds like. When you hear that voice, on the phone you know who is speaking even though you can’t see your friend. It’s something that you don’t need to relearn over and over, you just know. Huge parts of our day are spent accessing memories of how things are in the world rather than relearning things we know every time we encounter it. This works in our favor in that it saves us a lot of time, we know how to turn left and we just do it without questioning. Accessing previous experience in blocks of memories or representation also helps us to address new situations by allowing us to compare similar situations to new experiences and by allowing us to extrapolate new concepts or outcomes.

Knowing this, and a bit about how this process works, allows the NLP practitioner to structure language in ways that help to surmount difficulties, enhance innate abilities, and redirect unwanted responses with choices that work better for us. It’s all rather fascinating really. To learn more about NLP, simply type it into the search field in your web browser.

Q  - What do you mean when you say Hypnotic Technique?

A  - Pretty much everyone has some concept of what Hypnosis is. For many people the main thing they  imagine when they think of hypnosis is a kind of a cartoon image of a turban festooned man in a dark suite with intense eye hovering over some hapless woman.  For the more sophisticated, images of clinical settings may come to mind. But for most folks, when they think of hypnosis they image some deep sleep like trance.

The truth about hypnosis is that it is a state that we all go into and out of many times during the day. That dreamy feeling just before sleep or waking is the state that we know as hypnotic trance, but it doesn't have to be even that profound. Examples of this would be the kind of concentration that one may experience while reading a book. Perhaps you have had the experience of being shocked out of a good book or television show by someone insisting that they have been speaking to you while you didn't seem to notice. Or perhaps you’ve experienced driving your car and when you arrived at your destination you realized you weren’t quite sure you remembered the drive that got you there. Most of the time, our presenters will be using this lighter, wakeful state to attain the results they wish to create.

Here are some of the best examples of hypnosis/weight loss studies. Keep in mind as you read that the same sort of results can be got with any behavior or learning.

Weight Loss & Hypnosis

Hypnosis Helps Your Lose More Weight

In a study of 60 women separated into hypnosis versus non-hypnosis groups, the groups using hypnosis lost an average of 17 pounds, while the non-hypnosis group lost an average of .5 pounds (Cochrane, Gordon; Friesen, J. (1986). Hypnotherapy in weight loss treatment. Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 54, 489-492).

Hypnosis Lasts

Adding hypnosis to other weight loss methods increased weight loss by an average of 97% during treatment, and increased the effectiveness post treatment by over 146%. Hypnosis continues to enhance weight loss results and the effect may grow stronger over time. (Kirsch, Irving (1996). Hypnotic enhancement of cognitive-behavioral weight
loss treatments--Another meta-reanalysis. Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 64 (3), 517-519).

In a 9-week study of two weight management groups (one using hypnosis and one not using hypnosis), the hypnosis group continued to get results in the two-year follow-up, while the non-hypnosis group showed no further results (Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1985).

NLP: a pathway to personal effectiveness

Article Abstract:

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) involves the study of top performers through the systematic examination of the components of their performance. NLP breaks down these components into quantifiable segments and individual patterns that can then be taught to other people who wish to attain high performance levels. The training applications of NLP include the use of mental processing methods to improve information gathering skills and the acquisition of useful new behavioral skills. Basic NLP techniques that can be used to improve interpersonal communication skills are the use of self-awareness to make objective self-assessments, the use of emotional anchors to trigger positive feelings, and the use of behavioral cues to improve interaction with others. Mastery of NLP techniques can permit people to become more flexible thinkers and have better control of their behavior. author: Harris, Carol Publisher: Personnel Publications Ltd.
